I went to a Kappa Alpha Psi Probate as one of my cultural events. A probate is basically an event where a couple of guys who have been online (which means learning info and learning discipline for weeks) are exposed and everyone finds out who the new members of the organization are. This particular probate as I stated before are for the new Kappa of kappa alpha psi incorp. This event is set to start at 9:11p.m. and last for an hour. It starts at 9:11 because they were founded April 11, 1911. The reason for me attending this event is a couple of my homeboy’s were online. The highlight point of the ceremony is when I saw who the other guys were that online. I also learned a couple of things about Kappa like their colors and that they were founded April 11, 1911. Also they are a non-hazing fraternity. This event was held in the lower lever z-6 and was extremely packed. There were six new members to join the kappa alpha psi during this program. During the program the guys came out masked and are unmasked one by one and then they each say a minor 15 sec speech. Then they spit a little info and start to shimmy and dance and the program was over.
